Battery Holder no NVRAM Upgrade (Recommended)

Instead, we strongly recommend installing a remote button-cell battery holder with a standard CR2032 lithium battery.

Why? Because it just works.

For about $3 every couple of years, you get reliable memory backup with virtually zero risk of leakage or board damage. In the worst-case scenario, you lose your high scores… not your MPU.

It’s the simplest, safest, and most cost-effective solution. Keep the game original, eliminate corrosion risk, and avoid over-engineering a problem that already has a clean fix.
